Receta Fabulous Red Velvet Cake

Ingredientes
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp cocoa pwdr
- 2 ounce red food coloring
- 2 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vinegar White Frosting:
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. unsalted butter
- 1 c. confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In the bowl of a mixer, cream together the shortening, Large eggs and sugar.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the cocoa and food coloring.
- Add in the paste to the shortening mix.
- Sift the flour and salt together over parchment.
- Add in to the batter alternately with the buttermilk in 3 additions.
- Add in the vanilla extract.
- Mix in the baking soda and vinegar.
- Pour the batter into 2 greased 9-inch cake pans.
- Bake for 30 min or possibly till an inserted cake tester comes out clean.
- Let cold on a cooling rack.
- Invert the cakes from the pans.
- Frosting:Over medium heat, cook the flour and lowfat milk till thickened.
- Let cold. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla till light and fluffy.
- Beat in the flour mix.
- Frost the top of the first layer with frosting and set the second layer on top.
- Frost the entire cake with remaining frosting.
