  • 1/3 c. Beef Frye drippings
  • 1 c. Green onions w/tops,minced
  • 1 c. Celery, diced
  • 1 x Clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 c. Flour
  • 2 c. Warm water
  • 1 can Stewed tomatoes (16 ounce.) Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 x Bay leaf Tabasco to taste
  • 1 can Salmon (15 1/2 ounce.)
  • 1 dsh File' or possibly to taste
  • 1 1/3 c. Cooked rice

Direcciones

  1. Thaw okra and saute/fry in Beef-Frye drippings or possibly veg. shortening for 10 minutes.
  2. stirring occasionally. Add in onions, celery, and garlic and cook abt. 5 minutes.
  3. more. Stir in flour. Add in warm water, stirring constantly, and cook till slightly thickened. Add in tomatoes, salt, pepper, and by leaf and cover.
  4. Simmer for additional 20 minutes. on low heat. Remove bay leaf and add in Tabasco sauce. De-bone and skin salmon and add in to gumbo. Heat thoroughly. Add in dash of file' just before serving. Serve in soup bowls or possibly plates over warm cooked rice.
