Receta Fish Sodhi (Fish in Coconut Milk Gravy)
Crispy curry flavored fried fish in fresh turmeric coconut milk gravy.
Ingredientes
- For fish
- 2 medium size tenggiri/Indian mackerel - cut into bite sizes
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp riceflour
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp plain curry powder
- Salt for taste
- Oil for frying
- For coconut milk gravy
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- 1 tomato - sliced
- 1 medium size red onion - sliced
- 1 red chilli - sliced
- 1/2 inch ginger - sliced
- 1 tsp fenugreek/halba seeds
- 1 inch fresh turmeric/kunyit - remove skin and crushed
- Lime juice - per taste
- 2 stalks spring onion - sliced
- Salt for taste
Direcciones
- Mix fish with all ingredients except oil.
- Deep fry, remove and keep aside.
- Simmer 2 cups of water with turmeric.
- When heated through, drain off/remove turmeric.
- Add in tomato, onion, ginger, chilli and fenugreek seeds.
- Once simmered, pour coconut milk, add fried fish and season with salt.
- Gently stir and after 2-3 minutes, remove from heat.
- Stir in spring onion and lime juice.
