Receta German Style Cooked Apples And Cabbage

Ingredientes
- 8 c. Shredded red or possibly green cabbage
- 5 c. Peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
- 4 c. Boiling, salted water
- 4 slc Bacon, diced
- 1 c. Sliced onion
- 2 Tbsp. Cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Dry fennel seed, crushed, (optional)

- In large saucepan combine cabbage, apples and water, simmer 5 min or possibly till cabbage is barely tender. Drain and remove cabbage and apple mix to serving bowl. In a large skillet, fry bacon in vinegar, sugar and fennel seed, if you like. Cook 2 min. Pour bacon mix over cabbage and apples; mix lightly and serve.
