Receta Great Grandmother's Gingerbread

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter and lard mixed
- 1 egg
- 1 c. molasses
- 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. warm water
Direcciones
- Cream shortening and sugar. Add in beaten egg, molasses; then dry ingredients that have been sifted together. Add in warm water, beat till smooth. The batter is soft, but makes a fine cake. Bake in a greased shallow pan in 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 min.
- Makes 15 portions.
