  • 3 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 x Cinnamon stick - (1-inch long)
  • 4 x Cardamom pods
  • 2 x Bay leaves
  • 1 sm Onion - (abt 4 ounce) peeled, minced
  • 3 x Garlic cloves peeled, minced fine
  • 2 tsp Peeled, finely-grated fresh ginger
  • 1 1/4 lb Grnd chicken or possibly turkey
  • 7 ounce Fresh or possibly frzn peas lightly cooked
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd tumeric
  • 1 tsp Garam masala, store-bought
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt to 3/4 tspn
  • 2 Tbsp. Fresh lemon juice Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Put the oil in a wide pan and set over mediun-high heat. When the oil is warm, put in the cinnamon, cardamom, and bay leaves. Stir for a few seconds. Put in the onion. Stir and fry till the onion pcs turn brown at the edges. Put in the ginger and stir for another few seconds. Now put in the chicken (or possibly turkey). Stir and fry till all the lumps are broken up. Now pun in all the remaining ingredients. Stir to mix and cook for another 2 to 3 min, stirring as you do so.
  2. This recipe yields 3 to 4 servings
  3. Comments: Grnd chicken - or possibly turkey, for which matter - cooks up in min. If a guest unexpectedly shows up, this may be the perfect dish to serve. Peas are used here but infinite veriations are possible; cooked lima beans, cut-up and cooked green beans, even corn kernels.
  4. The whole spices - bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods - are not meant to be eaten.
