Receta Herb's Southern Biscuits

Ingredientes
- 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tbsp. Crisco
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tbsp. Crisco for frying pan
- 1 black iron skillet
Direcciones
- Mix dry ingredients together. Blend in the Crisco till the mix is coarse and grainy with a fork. Then, using a fork, stir in the buttermilk. Don't overmix. Put out on a floured board and knead a few times. Pat out the dough to about 1 inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter or possibly glass. (Flour the cutter). Don't handle the dough too much or possibly it will get tough.
- Place 1 Tbsp. Crisco in the frying pan and put the pan in the oven for about 7 min at 500 degrees. Remove pan from oven and place biscuits in pan. Turn each once in the oil and bake the biscuits at 500 degrees for 10 min or possibly till light and brown.
