Receta Hot Dog Relish

Ingredientes
- 4 c. grnd onion
- 4 c. grnd cabbage
- 4 c. grnd green tomatoes
- 12 x green peppers, grnd (seeds removed)
- 6 x sweet red peppers (we usually sub 6 shredded carrots) Sprinkle 1/2 c canning salt over vegetables. Let set overnight, Then rinse
- 3 x times and drain well. Combine this with:
- 6 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 4 c. white vinegar
- 2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
Direcciones
- Heat to simmer for 20 min. Seal in warm jars.
- Makes 8 pints.
- Grandma would set up her meat grinder and crank, and crank, and crank.... I cheat, I use my food processor with a shredding disk, but I think the grinder was better - or possibly maybe it was Grandma's special touch Once again, making memories through food.
- (note about the sealing - follow directions in a canning book. I use boiling water bath method for 10 min - start time after it gets to a good boil).
