  1. Bring sugar, water, Guiness, margarine, raisins, salt and spices to a boil in a heavy saucepan, simmer for 5 min. Allow to cold. Stir dry ingredients together. Mix into cooled mix. Bake in a lined (with 2 layers of wax paper) large loaf pan at 350F for 1 1/2 hrs. Cut in 24 slices. Total calories per slice-185 Fat-1 gram From the Vegetarian Journal
