Receta M/W Sugar Glazed Cherry Pie

- 2 x recipes basic pastry next recipe basic pastry or possibly your own homemade or possibly store bought pastry crusts
- 1 can tart or possibly sour pitted (16 ounce) cherries in water about 2 liquid removed,juices reserved
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. sugar (up to 2/3 c. if you like it sweeter) glaze
- 1 sm egg
- 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon grnd

- To prepare pie,make basic pastry dough and chill. Roll out 1 pie dough ball into 12" circle on lightly floured surface.Place circle into 9" microwaveable pie plate to create bottom crust. Measure out 1 c. reserved cherry juice.Combine 1/4 c. of the juice and cornstarch in 1 quart.microwaveable casserole.Stir in remaining 3/4 c. juice and sugar and blend.Microwave on high till boiling and thickened,3 to 4 min,stirring once.Stir in cherries.Pour into bottom of pie crust.. Roll out second pie dough ball in same manner as bottom crust and place over filling.Cut a few decorative slashes in crust to vent steam.Tuck upper crust under lower crust.Flute edges or possibly press with fork.
- To prepare glaze,beat together egg and lowfat milk in small bowl and brush on top crust.Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top.Microwave pie on high till juices start to bubble through slits in crust.8 to 12 min,rotating 1/4 turn after 4 min.Place pie on baking sheet,transfer to conventional oven and bake at 425 deg.till crust is golden,8 to 12 min.Makes 6 to 8 servings...
