  1. 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. 2 Grease bottoms only of 12 muffin cups or line with paper baking cups.
  3. 3 In large bowl, combine oats and milk; let stand 5 minutes.
  4. 4 Add syrup, butter and egg; blend well.
  5. 5 Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and walnuts; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  6. 6 Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.
  7. 7 Bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. 8 Remove immediately from pan. Serve warm.
  9. 9 Note: For mini muffins, bake 8-10 minutes or until done.
