Receta Mom's Corn Bread Dressing

Ingredientes
- 2 recipes of Frying pan Corn Bread, crumbled
- 1 lg. onion, minced
- 3 stalks celery, minced
- 1 T dry sage
- 5 c. chicken broth/stock
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 T baking pwdr
- 3/4 c. nonfat dry lowfat milk pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening, melted
Direcciones
- Put together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well. Add in broth; spoon into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 min. Yield: 8 servings.
- Put together first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; stir in egg and water. Heat shortening in a 9-inch iron frying pan in a 400 degree oven. Remove from oven; pour melted shortening into cornmeal mix, stirring quickly. Spoon batter into frying pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 min or possibly till golden brown. Yield: one 9-inch frying pan.
