- 1 c. grated potatoes
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 2 c. suet or possibly 1 c. suet & 3/4 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. currants
- Some dates
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. nuts
- 3/4 c. combined red & green cherries
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon soda (dissolved in fruit juice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Healthy pinch of cloves
- 1/2 pound mixed peel
