  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Sage breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 c. Onion, finely minced
  • 4 Tbsp. Flour
  • 4 dsh Liquid Barbecue Smoke
  • 6 x Grinds fresh black pepper
  • 2 c. Low sodium chicken broth
  •     Lowfat milk
  •     Tabasco sauce, to taste

Direcciones

  1. Cook the sausage over medium heat til mostly done. Add in the onions. Stir occasionally til the sausage is done & onions are translucent/soft. Stir in the flour & continue stirring for a couple min so it doesn't stick & burn.
  2. Stir in the remaiining ingredients, except the lowfat milk. Let cook for a couple min stirring constantly, Stir in some lowfat milk, use as much as you need to get the consistancy you like best. When you get the gravy to the thickness you like reduce the heat to low & let simmer a few min so you do not have a raw flour taste in your gravy, do not forget to stir occasionally.
  3. Serve over broken up homemade biscuits. ( I cannot stand the packaged ones with this, they are too flaky with their separate layers for this)
  4. NOTES : About 10 min simmering usualy makes sure the gravy doesn't have a raw flour taste.
