Receta Old Fashioned Sausage And Peppers

Ingredientes
- 1/4 c. extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil
- 2 x garlic cloves thinly sliced
- 1 lrg red onion
- 2 x red bell peppers
- 2 x green bell peppers
- 4 x fresh warm Italian sausages
- 4 x fresh sweet Italian sausages
- 1 c. canned Italian plum tomatoes milled or possibly crushed
- 1Â 1/2 c. dry red wine
- 1 pch dry oregano
- Â Â Salt to taste
- Â Â Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
Direcciones
- Cut red onion and bell peppers into 2-inch chunks. In a large skillet with a lid, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in the garlic, onion, and peppers, and cook, stirring, till the onion is translucent/soft, about 5 min. Add in the sausages, and cook about 4 min more, till sausages begin to brown. Add in the tomatoes, wine, oregano, and a large healthy pinch of salt. Cover, bring to a simmer, and simmer gently about 25 min, till the peppers are very soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
