Receta Overnight Yeasted Flaky Biscuits

Ingredientes
- 5 c. flour plus more
- 8 tsp baking pwdr
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. cool butter - (1/2 stick)
- 1/2 c. cool shortening
- 5 tsp dry yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 3/4 c. hot buttermilk - (to 2 c.)
- Melted butter as needed
Direcciones
- Stir together flour, baking pwdr, salt, baking soda and sugar in large bowl. Cut butter and shortening into dry ingredients till crumbly and well distributed.
- In small bowl, sprinkle yeast over hot water and stir briefly. Allow to dissolve and swell, 5 - 10 min.
- Add in yeast mix and hot buttermilk to dry ingredients and toss with a fork to blend and moisten. Cover bowl and chill overnight or possibly up to 2 days.
- To make biscuits, roll dough out on lightly floured board to a thickness of 1 inch or possibly so. Cut into rounds, wedges or possibly squares with a knife or possibly biscuit cutter. Brush generously with melted butter.
- Place on baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees till lightly browned on top, about 12 to 15 min.
- This recipe yields 18 biscuits.
