.%20So%20even%20if%20all%20the%20other%20vegetables%20in%20a%20salad%20are%20raw,%20I%20cook%20the%20onion.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPasta%20Salad%20with%20Sausage,%20Celery%20and%20Cherry%20Tomatoes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETotal%20time:%2025%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20pasta%20according%20to%20package%20instructions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20oil%20in%20a%20medium%20skillet.%20%20Add%20onion%20and%20saut%C3%A9%20until%20tender.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20sausages%20on%20grill%20or%20in%20skillet.%20When%20done%20remove%20and%20slice%20into%201%201/2%E2%80%B3%20(4cm)%20lengths.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVinaigrette:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20all%20ingredients%20in%20small%20bowl%20and%20whisk%20well%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20assemble:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20drained%20pasta%20in%20large%20salad%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20vegetables%20and%20vinaigrette,%20and%20toss%20well%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20sausage%20toss%20gently%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20summer%20finally%20got%20it%E2%80%99s%20official%20start%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20had%20our%20first%20bike%20ride.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20going%20on%20bike%20rides.%20Walking%20and%20hiking%20is%20nice,%20but%20not%20as%20exhilarating%20as%20racing%20down%20the%20paths%20on%20my%20bike.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus%20I%20get%20lots%20of%20time%20to%20think;%20to%20let%20my%20mind%20wander%20where%20it%20will.%20And%20we%20all%20know%20that%20my%20mind%20tends%20to%20wander%20down%20some,%20er,%20interesting%20paths.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYesterday%20I%20was%20pondering%20life.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20all%20started%20with%20a%20blog%20post%20I%20had%20read%20the%20night%20before.%20The%20writer%20had%20recently%20had%20a%20birthday%20and%20was%20reflecting%20on%20his%20life%20so%20far.%20He%20ended%20the%20post%20by%20saying%20that%20he%20had%20few%20regrets.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20started%20to%20think%20about%20whether%20or%20not%20I%20had%20any%20regrets.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENo,%20I%20have%20no%20regrets.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20that%20I%20have%20led%20a%20perfect%20life%E2%80%A6.%20Far%20from%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20sure%20I%20could%20have%20been%20a%20better%20parent%20and%20a%20better%20child%20and%20a%20more%20fiscally%20responsible%20young%20adult%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20equally%20sure%20there%20is%20a%20whole%20long%20list%20of%20other%20things%20that%20I%20could%20have%20done%20better.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20was%20in%20high%20school%20I%20had%20to%20decide%20whether%20to%20go%20to%20an%20out-of-state%20university%20to%20pursue%20my%20lofty%20dream%20of%20becoming%20an%20astronomer%20or%20go%20to%20a%20local.school%20and%20pursue%20my%20less%20lofty%20goal%20of%20partying%20with%20my%20friends.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20went%20to%20the%20local%20school.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20just%20don%E2%80%99t%20like%20the%20idea%20of%20using%20the%20term%20%E2%80%98regret%E2%80%99%20for%20normal%20life%20decisions%20that%20may%20or%20may%20not%20have%20turned%20out%20for%20the%20best%E2%80%A6.%20in%20retrospect.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThose%20decisions,%20for%20good%20or%20bad,%20shape%20who%20we%20are.%20If%20we%20had%20made%20a%20different%20choice%20we%20would%20be%20a%20different%20person.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20was%20young,%20late%20teens%20I%20think,%20I%20remember%20having%20a%20%E2%80%98disagreement%E2%80%99%20with%20my%20mother.%20I%20wanted%20to%20go%20somewhere%20or%20do%20something%20she%20didn%E2%80%99t%20want%20me%20to%20do.%20But%20I%20was%20old%20enough%20that%20it%20would%20be%20my%20decision.%20She%20told%20me%20how%20she%20always%20regretted%20not%20going%20to%20visit%20her%20mother%20one%20last%20time.%20%20She%20didn%E2%80%99t%20know%20it%20would%20be%20the%20last%20time,%20of%20course,%20but%20her%20mother%20wanted%20her%20to%20come%20home%20for%20a%20visit%20and%20my%20mother%20decided%20to%20%E2%80%98stay%20in%20the%20city%E2%80%99%20rather%20than%20go%20%E2%80%98home%20to%20the%20farm%E2%80%99.%20%20Her%20mother%20died%20shortly%20thereafter.%20She%20told%20me%20that%20she%20always,%20always%20regretted%20the%20decision%20not%20to%20do%20as%20her%20mother%20asked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESee,%20mother%E2%80%A6.%20I%20remember%20the%20story.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20sure%20she%20was%20attempting%20to%20teach%20me%20filial%20obedience%20but%20what%20she%20taught%20me%20was%20so%20much%20better.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShe%20taught%20me%20to%20weigh%20each%20decision%20I%20make%20and%20to%20seriously%20consider%20whether%20or%20not%20I%20will%20%E2%80%98regret%E2%80%99%20an%20action,%20either%20taken%20or%20not.%20Then%20decide%20and,%20along%20with%20that%20decision,%20to%20decide%20that%20there%20will%20be%20no%20regrets.%20Basically,%20to%20take%20responsibility%20for%20my%20life%E2%80%99s%20decisions,%20make%20the%20most%20of%20it%20and%20don%E2%80%99t%20look%20back.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20wondered,%20occasionally,%20what%20my%20life%20would%20have%20been%20like%20had%20I%20studied%20astronomy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20pretty%20sure%20I%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20be%20liv
