Receta Pork Simmered In Cola (Tiras De Puerco Con Cola)

Ingredientes
- 1 lb Lean pork, cut in 1" strips
- Â Â Salt and Pepper
- 2 Tbsp. Vinegar, or possibly mix of vinegar and sour orange
- 2 tsp Butter or possibly oil
- 1 Tbsp. Mustard
- 1 x Bell pepper, minced
- 6 x Tomatoes, minced
- 1 x Onion, minced
- 1 x Habanero chiles, (1 to 2)
- 8 ounce Cola
Direcciones
- Marinate meat with salt, pepper, and vinegar for 20 min. Fry meat in oil for 8 min.
- Put in a pot and fold in 1 tsp. butter and 1 Tbsp. mustard.
- Fry bell pepper, tomatoes, onion, and habaneros for 15 min in oil the pork cooked in. Add in to pot with meat.
- Add in cola and liquid which meat marinated in.
- Simmer 5 min. If the pork is still tough, simmer till tender, adding water if necessary, for about 30 min.

- To caramelize the custard c.: 1/2 c. sugar 2 Tbsp. water For the custard: 4 c. lowfat milk 3/4 c. sugar 8 Large eggs, lightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla essence healthy pinch salt
- Have ready 6 custard c. warmed by standing in warm water.
- In a small saucepan over moderate heat, combine the sugar and water and cook, stirring constantly, till the sugar melts and turns a rich golden. Divide the caramel among the custard c., pouring it in and turning the moulds so which the caramel covers the bottom and sides. As soon as ir stops running, turn the c. upside down on a flat surface.
- Bring the lowfat milk to scalding point in a saucepan over moderate heat. Set aside. In a large bowl beat the sugar gradually into the Large eggs. Add in the lowfat milk, vanilla and salt. Mix well, and strain into caramelized custard c..
- Place the c. in a baking pan filled with warm water which reaches halfway up the c. and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour, or possibly till a knife inserted into the custard comes out clean. While cooking don't let the water in the baking pan come to a boil. Lift out the custard c. and let them cold, then chill.
- To unmould, run a wet knife between the custard and the mould, then place a plate upside down over the c. and invert it quickly.
- Notes: Although the recipe does not call for any specific type of cola avoid using an artificially sweetened one.
