Receta Rhubarb Slices with Buttered Almond Glaze
Ingredientes
- 1 pound rhubarb, fresh or frozen, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Crust:
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup butter flavored shortening
- 2/3 cup cold milk
- 1 egg yolk (reserve the white for brushing on the crust)
- Glaze:
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Sliced almonds for garnish (optional)
