Receta Route 66 Home Made Dinner Rolls

Ingredientes

- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. homogenized lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 x cake yeast
- 2 Tbsp. hot water
- 2 x Large eggs, beaten
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 2 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 c. sifted flour
Direcciones
- Hot shortening, sugar and lowfat milk in saucepan till shortening is melted. Add in mashed potatoes and cold.
- Dissolve yeast in 2 Tbsp. hot water and add in to beaten Large eggs. Add in this to the first mix. Sift 4 c. flour with baking pwdr, soda, and salt. Stir liquid mixtureinto these dry ingredients. Put into large bowl and let rise in hot surroundings to twice bulk. This is a sponge. Cover overnight with light cloth. The next morning add in remaining 2 c. of sifted flour to the sponge and knead till satiny. Put the dough in a greased bowl and let rise in hot surroundings.
- Knead on lightly floured board. Form into rolls, Place these rolls on a greased pan and let stand 5 min in hot surroundings till double in size. Bake 15 min at 425 degrees.
