A quick casserole given to us by our friend Barb McGillen in Indianapolis. A family favorite

  1. Quarter, core and boil a medium sized head of cabbage.
  2. When done, drain thoroughly and allow to cool.
  3. Brown 2lbs Ground Beef add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Drain when browned and set aside.
  5. Line the bottom of a casserole dish with cooked, well drained cabbage leaves.
  6. Add a layer of ground beef.
  7. Add a layer of condensed tomato soup.
  8. Add a layer of sliced or shredded American cheese.
  9. Repeat and top with bread crumbs.
  10. Bake at 350 until cheese is melted and center is warm (about 30minutes)

    I gotta say that it was delicious! Who knew you were such a good cook? Being around good cooks all your life must have rubbed off, Grandma would be proud! This is a low carb version of a pasta dish, and great for me, esp, since I love cabbage. I still don't like the name Barb came up with, but she "done good."
