Receta Spiced Apple Pear Butter

Ingredientes
- 2Â 1/2 lb Rome Beauty or possibly other baking
- Â Â Apples, peeled, cored
- Â Â Coarsely minced
- 2 lb Pears, peeled, cored
- Â Â Coarsely minced
- 1 c. Apple cider or possibly apple juice
- 1/4 c. Fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1/3 c. Firmly packed golden
- Â Â Sugar
- 1 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Grnd nutmeg
- 1 x 3x1/2-inch strip orange peel
- Â Â (orange part only)
Direcciones
- Position rack in center of oven; preheat to 350 degrees. Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover. Simmer till fruit is very tender, about 15 min. Puree fruit mix in processor. Fold in 1/2 c. sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Transfer mix to 8-inch square glass baking dish; add in orange peel. Bake uncovered till mix is dark and thick, stirring often, about 1 hour 20 min.
- Throw away peel. (Can be made 1 week ahead Cover and chill.) Goes well with muffins.
