I love the smell of fresh strawberries. I enjoyed this recipe to much, I had to share it. Happy Cooking Enjoy!

  • 1 package (18-1/4 oz) white cake mix
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • ¼ cups vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 package (16 oz) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, thawed
  • 2 package (3oz each) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 carton (12oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • Fresh strawberries, optional

Direcciones

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, and eggs on low speed until moistened.
  2. Beat on medium for 2 minutes
  3. Pour into two greased and floured 9 inch baking pans
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
  5. Cool for 10 minutes, remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely
  6. Using a serrated knife, level top of each cake if necessary
  7. Return layers, top side up, to clean 9 inch round baking pans
  8. Pierced cakes with a meat fork at ½ inch intervals
  9. Drain juice from strawberries into a 2 cup measuring cup
  10. Refrigerate berries
  11. Add water to juice to measure 2 cups
  12. Pour into a sauce pan
  13. Bring to a boil, stir in gelatin until dissolved
  14. Chill for 30 minutes
  15. Gently spoon over each cake layer
  16. Chill for 2 to 3 hours
  17. Dip bottom of one pan in warm water for 10 seconds
  18. Invert cake onto a serving platter
  19. Top with reserved strawberries and 1 cup whipped topping
  20. Frost cake with remaining whipped topping
  21. Chill for at least 1 hour
  22. Garnish with fresh berries if desired
  23. Refrigerate leftovers
