Ingredientes
- 3 cups (378 g) AP flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t baking soda
- 1/4 t cream of tartar
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups superfine sugar
- 2 large eggs, separatedâreserve 1 white for the next sugar cookie recipe, you only need one for this)
- 2 t vanilla
- 2 T milk (I used a dribble of cream plus 1% milk)
- 2 t water
- 1/3 cup coarse sugar or sprinkles or combo (I dislike sprinkles but always do part sprinkles for the kids)

%20and%20use%20the%20coarsest%20sugar%20possible.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESparkly%20Sugar%20Bars%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Carole%20Walter%E2%80%99s%20Great%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20F.%20Place%20a%20rack%20on%20the%20middle%20shelf.%20Line%20a%209X13%20or%202%208X8%20or%209X9%20pans%20(see%20notes%20above)%20with%20parchment%20paper.%20It%20can%20help%20to%20spray%20the%20pan%20with%20oil%20first.%20Make%20sure%20the%20parchment%20overhangs%20the%20edges%20of%20the%20pan%E2%80%93you%E2%80%99ll%20use%20it%20to%20remove%20the%20bars%20to%20slice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20together%20the%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%20cream%20of%20tartar%20and%20salt.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECream%20the%20butter%20until%20lightened%20in%20color,%20about%202%20minutes.%20Add%20the%20sugar%20slowly,%20taking%20about%202%20minutes,%20and%20then%20cream%20for%20an%20additional%202%20minutes.%20Add%20the%20egg%20yolks%20and%20the%20vanilla,%20scraping%20down%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20bowl%20as%20necessary,%20and%20beat%20until%20well%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20the%20lowest%20speed,%20add%20half%20of%20the%20flour%20mixture,%20scraping%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20bowl%20as%20necessary,%20and%20then%20add%20the%20milk.%20Finish%20with%20the%20other%20half%20of%20the%20flour%20mixture.%20Dump%20the%20dough%20into%20your%20prepared%20pan/s%20and%20press%20it%20evenly%20into%20the%20pan/s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20the%20water%20lightly%20with%20single%20egg%20white.%20Brush%20it%20lightly%20over%20the%20pressed%20cookie%20dough%20and%20generously%20sprinkle%20the%20dough%20with%20sugar%20and/or%20sprinkles.%20Bake%20for%20about%2025%20minutes%20(it%20may%20take%20less%20time%20with%202%20pans),%20until%20the%20edges%20of%20the%20bars%20are%20turning%20golden%20and%20the%20dough%20has%20set%20.%20When%20you%20press%20it,%20it%20should%20feel%20like%20a%20baked%20cookie,%20not%20dough.%20Remove%20and%20let%20the%20cookies%20cool%20completely%20in%20the%20pan%20on%20a%20cooling%20rack.%20Remove%20from%20the%20pan%20by%20the%20parchment%20paper%20and%20slice%20to%20desired%20size.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
