Receta Sweet basil tomato salad
I adapted this recipe from a tomato salad my mom's friend, Michi, made us years ago. She marinates the tomatoes in the dressing. We use this as salad dressing. You need to use a pretty sturdy lettuce such as Romaine--it's a substantial dressing. It's got wonderful flavor either way you use it.
Ingredientes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 T fresh sweet basil leaves, finely chopped
- 4 T catsup
- 3 T sugar
- 2 T red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 C oil (I use canola or safflower)
Direcciones
- Mix all ingredients together.
- To make the tomato salad, scald or peel tomatoes.
- Slice and layer in a shallow baking dish to marinate several hours or overnight.
- For a green salad, I combine romaine, red onion slices, tomatoes, cucumber and celery
