- ½ onion, diced
- 1 cup each, diced carrots and diced celery

- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. dried rosemary, crushed
- 1/8 tsp. dried dill
- 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
