- Mix sugar with cherries and let stand 20 min, stirring occasionally. Stir pectin into water, boil rapidly 1 minute. Remove from heat, add in cherries, stir 2 min. Pour into jelly glasses, cover, let stand at room temperature 24 hrs, seal and store in refrigerator. Delicious over ice cream or possibly on toast.
