Receta Walnut Brown Sugar Squares
Ingredientes
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Direcciones
- Preheat the oven to 350 F
- Lightly grease an 8 x 8 inch baking pan.
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt
- Set aside
- Using an electric mixer on medium speed, with a medium-size bowl, beat together the sugar, egg, and vanilla until creamy and smooth, about 2 minutes.
- Add the dry ingredients
- Mix thoroughly
- Stir in the walnuts, reserving 2 tablespoons
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
- Using your hands, spread the batter evenly
- Sprinkle with the remaining two tablespoons of walnuts
- Bake for 25 minutes
- The center will not be set but do not overbake
- Cool to room temperature
- Cover tightly with plastic wrap
- Allow to set overnight before cutting and serving
