Receta Walnut Date Orange Bars

Ingredientes
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Direcciones
- Cream shortening and brown sugar till light fluffy. Add in Large eggs, mix well. Add in flour, soda and salt.
- FILLING: Cut orange candy and dates. Put in saucepan with sugar, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a boil, cold till thickened. Stir in walnuts. Cold. Spread half of batter in greased 9x12 inch pan. Cover with filling. Spread the rest of batter over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 min.
