- Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour bottom only of 9x5 inch loaf pan. Combine all filling ingredients, mix well. Set aside.
- In large bowl, combine 3/4 c. brown sugar and 1/2 c. butter, beat till light and fluffy. Add in Large eggs, blend well. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla. Add in flour, baking soda, baking pwdr and salt, stir just till dry ingredients are moistened. Mix in 1/2 c. walnuts.
- Spread half of batter into greased loaf pan. Spoon filling down center of batter, to within 1/2 inch of sides. Spoon remaining batter over filling, spread gently to cover. Bake for 50-55 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold 15 min before removing from pan.
