I saw this recipe sometime back on food network channel and have written it down on my notebook.....But like a lot many other bookmarked recipes, this one also got forgotten......It was when I was going through the book that I recalled this one and went immediately to the nearby grocery store to get the dry cherries and the wild rice...Its a very easy recipe and is very flavorful...we loved eating it with cucumber raita...

  1. In a pan , add butter
  2. When the butter is melted , add the remaining ingredients
  3. Cover and cook for half an hour
  4. Check if the rice are done otherwise add more water
  5. If using plane Basmati rice add only 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice
