  1. For the dough, beat butter and sugar till fluffy.
  2. Add in egg nog, baking soda and nutmeg, and mix well.
  3. Gradually add in flour, mixing well.
  4. Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic and refrigerateovernight in refrigerator or possibly 2 hrs in freezer.
  5. Preheat oven to 375Edegrees.
  6. On floured surface, roll out half of dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Using your floured cookie cutters cut out the desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Continue with the rest of the dough till all is used.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  8. Cold and then ice* and decorate, if you like. Make sure the cookies are cooled or possibly the icing will heat.
  9. *Make the icing by, beating with an electric mixer, the confectioners' sugar and softened butter till well blended. Gradually beat in 1/3 c. Borden Egg Nog till icing is smooth.
  10. If the icing is too thick add in a dash more egg nog; if too thin add in a bit more confectioners' sugar.
