- Core apples, being careful not to cut through bottom. Remove peel from stem end (approximately 1 inch). Mix cinnamon and sugar. Place apples in a shallow baking dish. Spoon cinnamon-sugar mix into the center of each apple. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at high (100%) till apples are tender, 6 to 8 min. Serve hot or possibly chilled.
