- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose Gold Medal flour
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chunks or chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped Heath or Skor toffee candy bars
- Coarse sea salt, to sprinkle on top

%20I%20went%20home%20from%20my%20appointment%20and%20baked%20Brown%20Butter%20Toffee%20Chocolate%20Chunk%20Cookies%20and%20enjoyed%20one%20for%20me%20and%20one%20for%20the%20baby%E2%80%A6and%20maybe%20a%20few%20extras:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can%E2%80%99t%20even%20begin%20to%20describe%20how%20good%20these%20cookies%20are.%20They%20are%20almost%20too%20good%20to%20be%20true.%20The%20brown%20butter%20takes%20these%20cookies%20to%20a%20whole%20new%20level.%20If%20you%20haven%E2%80%99t%20baked%20with%20brown%20butter,%20you%20are%20missing%20out!%20I%20love%20the%20deep,%20nutty%20flavor%20it%20adds%20to%20the%20cookie.%20And%20it%20isn%E2%80%99t%20hard%20to%20brown%20butter,%20you%20just%20have%20to%20watch%20it%20closely%20and%20have%20a%20little%20patience.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cookies%20are%20chewy%20on%20the%20inside%20and%20crisp%20around%20the%20edges.%20And%20just%20when%20you%20think%20the%20cookies%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20get%20any%20better,%20they%20do!%20I%20add%20in%20chunks%20of%20chopped%20up%20Heath%20candy%20bars.%20The%20toffee%20flavor%20goes%20perfectly%20with%20the%20brown%20butter.%20Oh,%20and%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20stop%20there,%20I%20finish%20the%20cookies%20with%20a%20touch%20of%20sea%20salt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrown%20Butter%20Toffee%20Chocolate%20Chunk%20Cookies%20pretty%20much%20perfect!%20I%20love%20everything%20about%20them!%20I%20could%20eat%20a%20big%20stack%20every%20day%E2%80%A6and%20I%20just%20might%20until%20this%20baby%20is%20born!%20And%20FYI-these%20cookies%20freeze%20well.%20I%20put%20a%20few%20in%20our%20freezer%20to%20save%20for%20a%20rainy%20day,%20but%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20stay%20away.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20already%20gotten%20into%20my%20%E2%80%9Csecret%E2%80%9D%20cookie%20stash%20in%20the%20freezer.%20Oops!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20are%20looking%20for%20a%20new%20cookie%20recipe%20to%20try,%20look%20no%20further.%20You%20have%20to%20try%20my%20Brown%20Butter%20Toffee%20Chocolate%20Chunk%20Cookies.%20They%20are%20a%20favorite%20at%20our%20house%20and%20I%20think%20you%20will%20enjoy%20them%20too!%20Happy%20cookie%20baking!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20are%20looking%20for%20more%20brown%20butter%20recipes,%20here%20are%20a%20few%20of%20our%20favorites:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20you%20start%20browning%20butter,%20you%20can%E2%80%99t%20stop:)%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrown%20Butter%20Toffee%20Chocolate%20Chunk%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYield:%2032%20cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrep%20Time:%2030%20minutes,%20plus%2030%20minutes%20chill%20time%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20Time:%2010%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20brown%20butter%20takes%20these%20cookies%20to%20a%20whole%20new%20level.%20And%20then%20I%20add%20in%20toffee,%20chocolate%20chunks,%20and%20a%20little%20sea%20salt.%20These%20cookies%20are%20a%20must%20make!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%20Line%20two%20baking%20sheets%20with%20Silpat%20baking%20mats%20or%20parchment%20paper%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Cut%20one%20stick%20(1/2%20cup)%20of%20butter%20into%20tablespoons.%20Place%20in%20a%20medium%20skillet.%20Melt%20the%20butter%20over%20medium%20heat,%20swirling%20it%20in%20the%20pan%20occasionally.%20The%20butter%20will%20foam%20and%20pop,%20so%20be%20careful.%20Continue%20to%20swirl%20the%20pan%20often.%20Remove%20pan%20from%20heat%20once%20the%20butter%20starts%20to%20brown%20and%20smells%20nutty.%20There%20will%20be%20small%20brown%20bits%20on%20the%20bottom.%20The%20butter%20should%20be%20an%20amber%20color.%20Pour%20butter%20into%20a%20small%20bowl%20and%20cool%20to%20room%20temperature,%20about%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20While%20the%20brown%20butter%20is%20cooling,%20in%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20combine%20the%20remaining%201/2%20cup%20butter%20with%20dark%20brown%20sugar%20and%20granulated%20sugar.%20Beat%20until%20creamy%20and%20smooth,%20about%203-4%20minutes.%20Add%20the%20cooled%20brown%20butter%20and%20mix%20until%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20the%20egg,%20egg%20yolk,%20and%20vanilla%20and%20mix%20until%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20In%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20flour,%20cornstarch,%20salt,%20and%20baking%20soda.%20Gradually%20mix%20in%20the%20flour%20on%20low%20speed%20until%20just%20combined.%20Stir%20in%20the%20chocolate%20chunks%20and%20toffee%20chunks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Form%20the%20cookie%20dough%20into%20a%20large%20ball%20and%20wrap%20in%20plastic%20wrap.%20Chill%20for%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20When%20ready%20to%20bake,%20preheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%20Remove%20dough%20from%20fridge%20and%20form%20into%202%20tablespoon%20sized%20cookie%20dough%20balls.%20Place%20on%20prepared%20baking%20sheets,%20about%202%20inches%20apart.%20Sprinkle%20with%20sea%20salt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E8.%20Bake%20cookies%20for%2010%20minutes%20or%20until%20slightly%20brown%20around%20the%20edges.%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20allow%20the%20cookies%20to%20cool%20on%20the%20baking%20sheet%20for%202-3
