Receta Bullock's Cheese Strata

Ingredientes
- 4 x Large eggs beaten
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 3/4 tsp brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 tsp seasoned salt
- 3/4 tsp dry mustard Freshly-grnd white pepper to taste
- 5 slc stale white bread crusts removed
- 2 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. lowfat milk Salt to taste Freshly-grnd white pepper to taste
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Direcciones
- For the Strata: Combine the beaten Large eggs, lowfat milk, brown sugar, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, dry mustard and white pepper in an 8-inch square oven-proof casserole. Stir in the bread and cheese, cover and chill overnight.
- When you're ready to bake the strata, preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Place a 13- by 9-inch pan on the middle rack of the oven, place the casserole with the bread in the larger pan and then add in water to come halfway up the sides of the casserole. Bake the casserole till the center is set, about 45 min. Serve with Cheese Sauce.
- For the Cheese Sauce: Heat the butter in a saucepan and stir in the flour. Cook, stirring, till a smooth paste is formed. Don't let the flour brown. Add in the lowfat milk all at once, stirring constantly. Season to taste with salt and white pepper. Add in the cheese and cook, stirring, till the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
