  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Butter and flour a 9x9 baking pan.
  3. Mix the buttermilk with the eggs and butter.
  4. Add other ingredients and combine thoroughly.
  5. Pour into the pan and bake 40 minutes.
  6. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. When done, remove the cake from the oven and polk 10-12 holes in the top with the toothpick.
  8. Using a medium size saucepan, add the glaze ingredients to it and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  9. Caution: this glaze will boil up the sides of the pan, so don't use a small one.
  10. When boiling, turn down heat to medium and cook 1 minute.
  11. Pour over cake and let cool before serving.
