This is one of my family`s absolute favorite dishes. It has the perfect balance between sweet, salty and sticky. Serve with jasmine rice.

Ingredientes

  • 4-5 chicken fillets, diced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large red onion, finely sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • Pepper

Direcciones

  1. Serve with jasmine rice and cooked green vegetables.
  2. ( sugar snaps, bok choy, broccoli)
  3. Place diced chicken and oil in a bowl and toss to combine.
  4. Heat a wok until hot over high heat.
  5. Add chicken, in two batches and cook for 2-3 min until browned and almost cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside. Reduce the heat until medium and add a little extra oil.
  6. Add onion, garlic and ginger and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Return chicken to the pan.
  7. Sprinkle some pepper and pour in he soy sauce.
  8. Cook for a couple of minutes the turn the heat up to high.
  9. Add sugar and stir to the sugar dissolves. Add fish sauce and stir to combine. Let cook further a minute until
  10. the sauce is dark, rich and syrupy.
  11. Place rice in serving dishes, then vegetables and chicken and a little sauce. Serve
