Receta Caramel Dumplings

Ingredientes
- 1 c. Granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. Margarine
- 1 c. Granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 c. Water
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 c. Bisquick Original or possibly Reduced Fat
- 2/3 c. Lowfat milk
Direcciones
- 1. Heat 1 c. sugar in 5-quart Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring occasionally, till melted.
- 2. Cook, stirring constantly, till sugar is completely dissolved.
- 3. CAREFULLY add in butter, 1 additional c. of sugar and the water. (Mix will harden) Continue cooking, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, till the sugar is totally dissolved.
- 4. Heat to boiling; reduce heat, add in vanilla extract. Simmer 5 min.
- 5. Mix Bisquick and lowfat milk till soft dough/batter forms. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls into BOILING syrup. Cover tightly; reduce heat. Cook over low simmering heat for 15 min. Don't REMOVE COVER while cooking.
- 6. Serve hot and, if you like, with whipped cream.
