Ingredientes

Cost per serving $0.19 view details
  • 5 x fully-cooked bratwurst or possibly knockwurst
  • 2 ounce Monterey Jack cheese with caraway seed
  • 1/4 c. thinly-sliced green onions
  • 5 slc bacon
  • 5 x French-style rolls halved lengthwise (or possibly frankfurter buns) Catsup Mustard Minced onion Pickle relish

Direcciones

  1. Cut a lengthwise slit in each bratwurst or possibly knockwurst about 1/2 inch deep. Cut cheese into five 2 1/2- by 1/2- by 1/4-inch strips. Insert a cheese strip and some of the green onion into each brat or possibly knockwurst. Wrap a slice of bacon around each. Fasten the bacon with wooden toothpicks.
  2. For a charcoal grill, arrange preheated coals around a drip pan in a grill which has a cover. Test for medium heat above the pan. Place brats, cheese-side up, on the grill rack directly over the pan. Cover and grill for 5 - 10 min or possibly till bacon is crisp and cheese is melted.
  3. For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Adjust for indirect cooking. Place brats on grill rack; cover and grill as directed above.
  4. Place brats in French-style rolls or possibly buns. If you like, serve with catsup, mustard, minced onion, and/or possibly pickle relish.
  5. This recipe yields 5 servings.
  6. Comments: To grill these dynamite brats at the park, stuff them with the cheese and wind the bacon around them. Pack the brats with ice packs in a cooler and you're ready to go.
