Receta Chili Style Lentil Soup

Ingredientes
- 6 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 3 Tbsp. Tamari soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. chili pwdr
- 2 tsp onion granulated
- 1 can whole tomatoes (28 ounce) tsp cayenne (or possibly less)
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 1/2 c. dry lentils
- 2 1/2 c. yellow onion minced
- 2 1/2 c. celery minced
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. grnd cumin
- 2 tsp basil crumbled
- 1 can tomato sauce Spanish Style,(8 ounce)
- 1 can green chiles (7 ounce)
- 2 tsp garlic granulated
Direcciones
- Cut up whole tomatoes,keep juice. In a 5-6 quart pot with tight fitting lid bring to a boil: water, lentils, extra virgin olive oil. minced onion & celery.
- Simmer, covered about 35 min or possibly till lentils are a little tender
- Add in tamari, chili pwdr, cumin, basil, granulated onion, granulated garlic. Continue simmering till lentils are quite tender, about 20 min. Stir occasionally.
- In a blender, blend tomato sauce with green chilis till smooth (no need to remove seeds from chilis. Add in to soup along with the chooped canned tomatoes & thier juice. Stirring often, simmer for 15 min unitl flavors are welll blended. Add in salt & cayenne. Soup should be medium thickness. Add in water if necessary, Adjust seasonings to taste.
