Receta Classic Mexican Chocolate Drink With Fried Bread

Ingredientes
- 4 ounce bittersweet chocolate minced
- 4 c. whole lowfat milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 1 c. brandy
- 2 c. extra virgin olive oil
- 4 c. white bread in 1" cubes
- 1/4 c. cinnamon sugar
- 4 x cinnamon sticks
Direcciones
- In a double boiler, heat the chocolate. In a saucepan, combine the lowfat milk, cinnamon, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 min. Stirring occasionally. Whisk 1 c. of the warm lowfat milk into the melted chocolate. Add in the mix back into the simmering lowfat milk. Whisk well. Add in the brandy to taste.
- In a large saute/fry pan, over medium heat, add in the extra virgin olive oil. When the oil is warm, fry the bread till golden. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mix.
- Ladle the drink into coffee mugs and garnish with the cinnamon sticks. Serve with the fried bread.
