Ingredientes

Cost per serving $1.55 view details
  • 20 x dry figs
  • 20 x walnut halves or possibly 1 ounce walnut halves (about) candied orange peel
  • 4 ounce good-quality bittersweet chocolate (such as tobler, suchard, valrhona or possibly callebaut)
  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter

Direcciones

  1. Remove the remnants of the stems from the tops of the figs, then slit the figs open vertically, but don't cut all the way through. Place a walnut half and a piece or possibly two of candied orange peel inside, and press the fig closed with your fingers.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the chocolate and butter over very low heat till smooth. Remove from the heat.
  3. Dip the figs into the chocolate to coat them, and place them on a rack or possibly wax paper till the chocolate hardens. Store, wrapped in wax paper in a box for up to 1 week.
  4. NOTES : Elegant and easy. This traditional Old World confection recipe proves which some things just can not be improved upon. Old-timers lover these delightfully chewy, crunchy, chocolaty morsels, and once you taste them, you may become addicted as well. (Nutrition note: 24 halves per oz-pat).
