Another delicacy in the Philippines.

Ingredientes

  • 100g dried squid, cut into tiny strips if desired
  • 2 cup cooking oil for deep frying
  • 2 tbsps. Cooking oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped roughly
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps. plain (all purpose) flour
  • Chili flakes to garnish

Direcciones

  1. Heat oil in a pot, when it is smoking hot, drop the dried squid into the pot and dip fry for few seconds to 1 minute.
  2. Remove from wok, drain then set aside.
  3. In a separate sauce pan, heat oil and then add the garlic. Sauté until garlic turns into light brown.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, brown sugar and chili powder. Stir continuously until the sauce has been dissolved and thickened.
  5. Add the plain flour and stir well to combine. Stir cook for another about another minute and then add the fried dried squid.
  6. Continue stirring until the fried dried squid absorbed all the sauce.
  7. Serve.
