Receta Dutch Apple Cake

Ingredientes
- 1 c. Shortening
- 2 c. Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 4 x Large eggs
- 3 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Soda
- 1 c. Cool water
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Cloves
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 3 med Apples, peeled, minced fine
- 2 c. Sugar
- 1 pch Salt
- 1 c. Pecans, minced
- 1 c. Lowfat milk
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
Direcciones
- Cream shortening and sugar; add in Large eggs and beat well. Sift flour, salt and spices together; dissolve soda in cool water. Add in flour mix and water alternately to creamed mix. Mix in minced apples. Bake in 350 degree oven in a 9x13x2 inch pan for 45 to 50 min.
- To make icing: Boil sugar, salt, lowfat milk and butter in a heavy saucepan till it strings, about 20 min. Remove from heat and add in nuts. Stir till it begins to thicken and pour over cooled cake. Cut in squares and serve.
