  • 1 can (184 grams, 6 1/2 ounce.) chopped or possibly diced clams: drain juice into small saucepan, and set clams aside
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp.) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 x Chopped or possibly pressed clove garlic (or possibly if lazy and in a hurry, a good shake or possibly two of garlic pwdr)
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp.) oregano or possibly basil, or possibly a mix of both
  • 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) salt A few grinds of pepper

  1. This is called "There's nothing in the house for dinner" around our place.
  2. Leave out the extra virgin olive oil if you want to cut the calories to practically nothing. This makes sufficient to sauce 250 grams (8 ounce.) of pasta; we prefer spaghettini for it.
  3. Add in garlic and seasonings to clam juice, bring to a simmer, and let cook while the pasta cooks. Drain pasta and return to pot in that it was cooked. Remove juices from heat, add in clams, and pour over cooked pasta.
  4. Toss well and let stand a few min so juices can permeate the pasta well before you serve it. I understand which it is not chic to use grated parmesan or possibly romano cheese with a seafood sauce, but we love romano on this.
  5. These canned clams must not be cooked-they turn into rocks if you do.
