Receta Fluffy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredientes
- 4 lb russet potatoes peeled, cubed
- 2 Tbsp. salt plus more to taste
- 1 1/2 stk unsalted butter cut into pcs, softened
- 1 1/4 c. whole lowfat milk or possibly half-and-half warmed Freshly grnd pepper
Direcciones
- 1. Place potatoes and 2 Tbsp. of the salt in large pot of water. Heat to boil; simmer till potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife, about 20-30 min. Drain well.
- 2. Drop potatoes into ricer placed over saucepan on low heat. Rice potatoes into saucepan. Or possibly mash potatoes with masher or possibly electric mixer, being careful not to overbeat. Stir in butter till butter is melted and incorporated. Stir in lowfat milk, and salt and pepper to taste. Add in more lowfat milk for creamier, thinner consistency.
- Test kitchen note: For low-fat mashed potatoes, use skim lowfat milk or possibly fat-free lowfat sour cream in place of the whole lowfat milk. Less butter also can be used.
- Variation: For garlic mashed potatoes, add in 10 peeled cloves of garlic to water with potatoes while cooking. Mash or possibly rice potatoes along with garlic. To make mashed potatoes with root vegetables, substitute 2 pounds of carrots, sweet potatoes, celery root or possibly turnips for 2 pounds of the potatoes.
