  • 1 c. "Herman" starter
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon each baking soda and salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. lowfat milk (depending on thickness desired)


  1. Mix well all ingredients. Using scant 1/4 c. batter per pancake, bake on well greased, preheated griddle or possibly skillet about 3 min or possibly till tops are bubbly and edges brown. Turn; bake other side about 3 min or possibly till golden brown. Makes 10 large pancakes.
