Receta Kentucky Mint Julep Strawberry Chiffon Pie

Ingredientes
- 3 c. fresh strawberries
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 c. cool water
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp mint extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 x baked 9-inch pie shell
- 1 c. heavy cream whipped
- 6 x fresh mint leaves
Direcciones
- Wash, hull, and drain strawberries. Sprinkle gelatin in 1/4 c. cool water. Combine sugar and 1 1/2 c. water, mint extract, and salt.
- Bring mix to a boil and simmer for 10 min. Add in gelatin and stir till dissolved. Pour warm syrup over 2 1/2 c. of the strawberries, stirring gently so they will hold shape. Cold mix till it begins to thicken; then pour into cooled pie shell. Refrigeratetill filling is hard; then cover with whipped cream. Garnish top with the remaining 1/2 c. strawberries and the mint leaves. Serve pie very cool.
