Receta Luscious Apple Rolls

Ingredientes
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 1/2 c. shredded cooking apples
- Vanilla ice cream, optional
Direcciones
- Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan, stir well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till sugar dissolves; stir in butter. Set aside.
- Combine flour, baking pwdr and salt. Cut shortening into flour mix with a pastry blender till mix resembles coarse meal. Add in lowfat milk, stirring just till dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 4-5 times.
- Roll dough to 12 x 9 inch rectangle. Spread apples proportionately over dough; roll up, jelly roll fashion, beginning with long side. Cut into 12 (1 inch) slices. Place slices cut side down in a well greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Pour sugar syrup around slices. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 min or possibly till golden. If you like serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
