- To make cookie crust, cream together butter and sugar. Work in flour till mix is smooth. Pat into bottom of 9 inch square pan. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 20 min or possibly till golden.
- Meanwhile make filling. Beat Large eggs slightly. Add in remaining ingredients and stir till well blended. Spread filling over baked crust and bake 20 min or possibly till browned and hard to the touch. Let cold in pan on wire rack.
- Make frosting by beating ingredients together till smooth, adding sufficient evaporated lowfat milk to make spreading consistency. Spread proportionately over filling. If you like, garnish with minced nuts or possibly coconut. Cut into about 30 bars. Macadamia nuts make a richer cookie than walnuts, but either nut makes an excellent bar.
